NASA publishes final term and condition on reporting sexual harassment, assault

On March 10, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) published in the Federal Register a final notice of a new term and condition regarding sexual harassment, other forms of harassment, and sexual assault. According to the final term and condition, institutions of higher education and other organizations that receive NASA funds are responsible for fully investigating complaints under and for compliance with federal non-discrimination laws, regulations, and executive orders. Further, NASA is “bolstering policies, guidelines, and communications” regarding sexual harassment and assault. The final term and condition are intended to ensure that organizations funded by NASA clearly understand expectations and requirements and to ensure that recipients of grants respond promptly and appropriately to instances of sexual harassment, other forms of harassment, and sexual assault.
